The ZeroPollution4Water (ZP4W) Cluster, coordinated by Water Europe, will participate in EU Green Week 2026 with the online event “Zero Pollution for a Resilient Water-Smart Society and Economy: From Innovation to Implementation – Investing in Nature through Water Systems”, taking place on 11 June 2026 from 11:00 to 13:00 CET.
The event will bring together representatives from the European Commission, researchers, policymakers, water professionals and EU-funded projects to discuss how innovative solutions can support Europe’s transition towards a more resilient, sustainable and water-smart future.
Water plays a central role in achieving the European Union’s environmental and climate objectives. However, significant challenges remain in translating research and innovation into large-scale implementation. This event will explore how Europe can better invest in nature through water systems while accelerating the uptake of solutions that contribute to pollution prevention, ecosystem restoration and water resilience.
The programme will open with contributions from the European Commission and Water Europe, setting the scene for discussions on Europe’s Zero Pollution ambition and the EU Water Resilience Strategy. Participants will then discover how projects within the ZeroPollution4Water Cluster are contributing to reducing water pollution and advancing integrated solutions for resilient water systems.
A thematic session will feature project presentations from AQUAMON, LIFE PRISTINE, NIAGARA and NPower, covering topics such as advanced water quality monitoring, water reuse, innovative treatment solutions and circular nutrient management. The event will conclude with a panel discussion involving representatives from LIFE PRISTINE, NIAGARA, NPower, D4RUNOFF and WATERSENS, focusing on how innovative solutions can move from pilot actions to large-scale deployment and real-world impact.
By bringing together expertise from across Europe, the event aims to foster dialogue on the investments, governance mechanisms and policy frameworks needed to accelerate the transition towards a Water-Smart Society and Economy.
